This photograph derives from a body of work entitled A GRAPHIC TONE that was commissioned for an exhibition at Stanford University’s Cantor Arts Center in 2019, introducing ideas of circularity, movement and transformation across photographic, typographic and linguistic forms of representation. This project continues Ebner's research in utilizing the long-form poem / photographic essay as formats for writing across different spaces over extended periods of time, effectively working through these many forms of language, sight, and interpretation.
This image depicts a vinyl record LP, which contains a recording of poems in which Ebner collaborated with American poets Susan Howe and Nathaniel Mackey.
