In Brief Syllable (Septupled) the stump of a subsea cable, at first sight merely a leftover of an industrial waste disposal, is defiantly placed on a cement pedestal. Its cross-section reveals an articulate, even ornamental composition of smaller, colorful components. Normally hidden from our view, these cables cuts -essential hardware components for telecommunication- occur frequently in the artist’s practice, evoking the computerized reality of our global lives. "Brief Syllable (Septupled)" has been exhibited at the Kunsthalle Baden-Baden in 2019.
